Infant Oral Care - At Warm Springs Pediatric Dental, we offer well baby checks for children from 0-1 years old. This appointment offers a question and answer period for parents, where our doctors discuss the oral health of your infant, proper brushing instructions, nutrition and diet counseling, and growth and development assessments. As a child’s oral health starts from birth, we want new parents to know how to take great care of their child’s teeth as early as possible!
Appointments Made Easy - We know that your time is very valuable, so we offer dental appointment reminders, and quick turnaround time on calls and appointment requests. Should you have questions or concerns, our staff and doctors always happy to answer any questions or concerns in the office, over the phone, or via email
First Visit:
The first dental visit should be no later than your child’s first birthday. Having cavities is related to whether or not they have teeth, not to how old a child is.
We will discuss whether or not they have any developmental anomalies, congenital dental defects, your child’s diet, and if they have any dental habits such as thumb sucking or prolonged pacifier use. We will gently examine your child’s teeth and gums and X-rays may be taken to reveal decay and to check on the progress of your child’s permanent teeth under the gums.
We may clean your child’s teeth and apply topical fluoride to help protect the teeth against decay. We will make sure your child is receiving adequate fluoride at home and most importantly, we will review with you how to properly clean and care for your child’s teeth.
